Is Azerbaijan Visa-Free for UAE Residents?

UAE citizens do not require a visa to visit Azerbaijan if their stay duration does not exceed 90 days. However, other residents can get a visa on arrival to Azerbaijan (for a stay of up to 30 days) if they hold a valid UAE residence visa.

 

Travelers to Azerbaijan require a visa to enter the country unless they are citizens of visa-exempt countries or are eligible to obtain an electronic visa (e-visa) on arrival. The e-visa is issued only to the citizens of designated countries. Every visitor must hold a passport with a validity of at least 3 months from the expected validity period of the visa.

Azerbaijan E-visa for UAE Residents

Azerbaijan introduced the electronic visa system in 2017. This visa, known as the ASAN visa, is valid for a single-entry visit of up to 30 days.

 

UAE residents are eligible for a visa on arrival to Azerbaijan if they hold a residence permit with a validity of at least 6 months. If the residence visa has a validity of less than 6 months, you must apply for an e-visa in advance. No visa shall be issued to applicants whose passport has a validity of less than 3 months.

Types of Visas for UAE Residents

Azerbaijan issues the following 3 types of visas to UAE residents:

Single-Entry Visa

This visa allows a visitor to enter Azerbaijan only once during a specific period. The visa becomes invalid after the visitor leaves the country. A single-entry visa has a validity of 90 days

Multiple-Entry Visa

This visa has a validity of two years. It allows visitors to enter Azerbaijan multiple times during this period

Transit Visa

A transit visa has a validity of 30 days and permits visitors to stay in the country for up to 5 days

How Much Does the Azerbaijan Visa Cost? What is its Validity?

Currently, it costs around $26 or AED 95 to obtain a visa to Azerbaijan. Please note that this price is subject to change periodically. The visa on arrival for Azerbaijan has a validity of 30 days.

Azerbaijan Visa on Arrival for UAE Residents

Indian passport holders having a UAE residence visa with a validity of at least six months can enter Azerbaijan without obtaining a prior visa from the Embassy or the Consulate of Azerbaijan. The visa is valid for up to 30 days. The UAE residence visa document along with the passport must be presented to the immigration authorities upon arrival at the airport.
